Hope Scholars exists to keep bright Honduran students in school — at home, in their communities, through public institutions that serve their country.
Before you fill out an application, read through what we look for, what we ask of our scholars, and when we review. We'd rather you know now than be surprised later.
Our scholarships are for Honduran students continuing their education inside Honduras. We don't fund studies abroad.
We support students attending public schools and public universities. Private institution tuition is outside our scope.
For high school support, you must have completed 8th grade. For university support, you must hold a high school degree.
No Hope Scholars award is a full ride. Every scholar — together with their family — commits an agreed monthly amount toward their own education expenses. We walk alongside you; we don't replace your effort.
You may submit your application at any time of year — we don't want a calendar to be the reason you miss your chance.
Our review window runs August 1 through September 30, and we evaluate applications for the following academic year. Awards begin in January.
Applications received after September 30 are held for the next review cycle.
Don't worry if a document isn't perfect — submit what you have. Files are stored privately and only seen by Hope Scholars staff.
A Hope Scholars award is a partnership. Here's what that looks like in practice:
We say this kindly, and with respect: if any of the below describes your situation, Hope Scholars is not the right partner for you, and we'd hate to take up your time.
Take your time with the application. There are no trick questions — just tell us your story.
